College and Career ReadinessThe term “college and career readiness” refers to the knowledge and skills high school graduates must possess in order to be successful in their career paths after high school. New research indicates that the mathematics and English skills required for entry level college classes are the same as the skills needed for good jobs.
Success in the 21st century workforce requires education and/or training beyond high school graduation. This postsecondary education can come in many forms – a four-year university, a community college, a technical or vocational school, or a formal apprenticeship – all of which can prepare students for a career. Washington County Public Schools offers many programs for building college and career readiness. The resources and information on these pages are designed to help students and parents navigate the many paths to a rewarding career. |
